Summer 2025 Courses

COURSE #1: THE FOUR PLANES OF DEVELOPMENT

DATES: FOUR Weekday Evenings in May 2025 (Class Days TBD on Family Schedules)

-This course is designed to assist parents in creating an awareness of how their child develops holistically according to age. 

 

Topics covered are the following:

-The Characteristics of Each Plane of Development 

-The Sensitive Periods

-The Needs of the Child in each of the Four Planes

-Tips for creating opportunities within the family to respect the development of each child

 

COURSE #2: MONTESSORI IN THE HOME AND FAMILY

DATES: FOUR Weekday Evenings in June 2025 (Class Days TBD on Family Schedules)

-This course is designed to assist parents in setting up each area of the home to foster independence, confidence, and consistency in creating a peaceful home environment. 

 

Topics covered are the following:

-Preparing the Environment 101: Tips for Successful and Practical Implementation

-Preparing the Playroom/Schoolroom, Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, Outdoor Space, and other living areas

-OPTIONAL ADD ON: MOM'S TIME IN PERSONAL CONSULT (Maggie comes to visit your home space to assist in setting up for your family's specific needs, within your budget and time preferences)

 

COURSE #3: POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

DATES: Weekday Evenings in July 2025 (Class Days TBD on Family Schedules)

-This course is designed to assist parents in creating successful Positive Discipline strategies for all ages! Time will be given in each class for questions regarding family specific needs.

 

Topics covered are the following:

-Parent Preparation

-The Development of the Will and Sensitive Period for Order (i.e. why the "terrible two's and three's" should not be terrible!!!)

-Strategies for Practical Application for the following behaviors: disrespect, tantrums, aggression, retaliation, and defiance

-Strategies for Sibling Relationships

-Love Languages and Temperaments for Children

 

COURSE #4: CGS AT HOME

DATES: Weekday Evenings in August 2025 (Class Days TBD on Family Schedules)

-This class is designed to assist parents in creating opportunities for their children to grow in their relationship with Jesus within the family culture.

 

Topics covered are the following:

-Supporting CGS in the Home

-Virtue Development 

-The Spiritual Needs of the Child in all Four Planes of Development 

-Catholic Family Liturgical Living Ideas and Resources

 

-COST: $50 for each course

 

-LOCATION: Prairie Village, KS

Course Duration: 2 Hours Per Meeting (allowing for some time for specific questions)

 

-ZOOM/RECORDING OPTION: Classes will be recorded for missed sessions and a ZOOM option is available.

 

-ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Maggie Clement (a mom of five children ages 1, 3, 7, 9, and 11) graduated from Benedictine College in 2011 with degrees in Theology, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education. In the Spring of 2023, Maggie completed her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Benedictine as well and serves as an adjunct professor of Montessori Education at the college. She was blessed to teach middle school Theology and History at two different archdiocesan schools before settling down to marry her husband Alex and raise her children. During this time, she worked as a part time youth minister. Over the past ten years, she has received training in CGS (Level Toddler, Level 1, and Level 2) and the Montessori Method, incorporating her training into the design and setting of her home in Prairie Village as well as Mom's Time Out Montessori Tutoring each week (classroom for ages 1-6). MTO was created by Maggie and her mom Jenny in 2017.
